Cheongpyeongsa Valley is the lifeline of Obongsan Mountain (779m) and the core of tourism. In particular, Cheongpyeongsa Temple is a representative temple in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, which is clean and cozy, and the Guseong Falls in the middle of the valley are not very large, but the clear valley water always flows, adding to the beauty of the valley.
Cheongpyeongsa Temple was founded by Zen master Seunghyeon in 973, the 24th year of King Gwangjong's reign in the Goryeo Dynasty, and was called Baekam Seonwon. However, it was later closed down. In 1068, it was rebuilt by Lee Eui and renamed as Bohyeonwon. Later, Lee Jahyeon renamed it Munsuwon. In 1550, the monk Bow renovated and expanded Munsuwon and renamed the temple Cheongpyeongsa Temple.
