It is a public arboretum operated by Gangwon Province and opened in 1999 with the purpose of providing a space for forest recreation and nature learning in the city. The Four Seasons Botanical Garden consists of about 30 theme gardens, including an ornamental plant garden, a subtropical plant garden, a succulent plant garden, and an ecological garden, and has over 1,800 species of plants. Colorful flowers bloom and fall each season, providing unique scenery and fun. In spring, enjoy cherry blossom viewing at the cherry tree road and azalea garden, and in summer, spend a cool time at the fountain plaza and metasequoia forest. You can enjoy the chrysanthemum exhibition in the fall and feel the green energy in the warm glass greenhouse even in the winter. A forest museum is also operated within the Gangwon Provincial Arboretum. The Forest Museum has a permanent exhibition hall themed on the forests of Gangwon-do, including the animals and plants of Gangwon-do and mountain village life, as well as a special exhibition hall and a 3D stereoscopic theater. The aquatic botanical garden with a pond, artificial waterfall, and pavilion, and the children's garden, a natural playground for children, are also highlights of the flower garden that cannot be missed.
