It is a literary village built around the birthplace of Kim Yu-jeong to commemorate author Kim Yu-jeong, who wrote several modern Korean short stories such as “Spring·Spring” and “Camellia Flower.” In 2002, Kim Yu-jeong's birthplace, a commemorative exhibition hall, and a treadmill were built to open Kim Yu-jeong's literary village, and in 2016, facilities such as Kim Yu-jeong's story collection, an outdoor performance hall, an experience room, and a romantic entertainment were added across the street. The current birthplace was restored according to historical research by Kim Yu-jeong's relatives and students, and has a typical 'ㅁ' house shape. The commemorative exhibition hall briefly displays Kim Yu-jeong's life and works, and the Kim Yu-jeong Story Collection shows her work and life through three-dimensional exhibits and videos. Sculptures featuring works by artist Kim Yu-jeong are installed throughout the outdoors, adding to the attractions. After visiting Munhwachon, let’s walk along Silayaki Road. The Silay Story Trail is a walking course that links places that appear in the works of Kim Yu-jeong, who wrote many of his stories against the background of his hometown village, and is also suitable for literary travel.
