서울 중랑구 봉화산(해발 160m)에서는 불암산, 도봉산, 남산이 어우러진 절경을 자랑한다. 산에서는 북쪽으로는 경기도 양주 지역까지 바라볼 수 있다. 1977년 7월 공식적으로 '근린공원'으로 지정된 봉화산은 산 정상에 자리잡은 아차산봉수대(1994년 리모델링) 봉수대를 비롯해 다양한 편의시설을 갖추고 있다. 또한 정상 근처에는 매년 음력 3월 3일에 행해지는 무속 의례인 봉화산 도당굿(서울시 무형문화재)이 거행되는 산신각이 있습니다.
