진잠향교는 1405년(태종 5)에 우수한 선비들의 위패를 봉안, 배향하고 백성을 교육하기 위해 설립되었습니다. 더 자세한 정보는 기록에 나와 있지 않습니다. 남은 건물을 대성전이라 하고, 위패는 5성, 송주 6현, 조선 18현이다. 조선시대에는 나라로부터 토지와 노비를 받은 한 교관이 30명의 제자를 가르쳤으나 가포개변 이후 교육기능이 사라지고 여름과 가을에 향을 피우며 종교의식인 석전을 섬겼다. 매월 1일과 반달에. 대성전(청주대성고등학교(구 청주상고 본관))이 등록문화재로 지정되어 있습니다.
