Description of art | “Brush Stroke” (1998) is one of the series “Brush Stroke” in the 1990s. Touches of spattering, dripping, and overlapping of lines with different intensity fill a large Korean traditional paper, Hanji. Thus, through his abstract paintings using unidentifiable objects, Song asks whether paintings applying the abstract style developed in the West can be considered a Korean painting. On the other hand, ink lines filling the canvas more densely toward the top give viewers the impression of looking at many overlapping hills from a distance. | ||||||
