Description of art	“About Frame” is one of her formative series. In 1996, she first used a computer to write a document, and encountered geometrical shapes incessantly produced by grids and pixels in Photoshop. Highly interested in proportion and corners, Hong found the program’s precision and speed?impossible to achieve manually?greatly appealing, and decided to use the computer as her artistic medium. Around that time, architectural elements like houses and windows began to appear in her works, and after her solo exhibition in 1997, she put more emphasis on the relation between these elements. In “About Frame,” an expanded concept of space can be observed in the geometrical images of windows, bricks, houses, and stairways. Hong likens the images of bricks and windows to cells and it is through these geometrical “cells,” produced by computer according to her meticulous planning, that her signature “organic geometry” images are born.
