Description of art “Buoy 3” (2012) is a multi-media work produced with the backdrop of Death Valley, California’s desert landscape filmed from a moving car. He reveals the micronized and reconstructed geometric traces of sedimentary layers divided vertically and horizontally from the desolate, grandiose valley. The landscape of the desert valley is divided repeatedly, and constantly slides from inside the screen out past it, thereby sensitively presenting traces from the past as they transcend time and space as well as the sublime landscape of Mother Nature. This work was part of the Midnight Moment event in June of 2012 in partnership with Times Square Advertising Coalition and Electronic Arts Intermix (EAI), and was shown on a large screen at the famous tourist destination of Times Square in New York City. The piece overwhelmed many passersby with its spectacular vistas, and has been assessed as the materialization of an encounter between urban civilization and nature. The gold landscape of the desert valley divided by vertical lines flows in a horizontal direction that ushers us into the cracks of contemplation created by a discontinuous flow of time.
