This tower commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Donghak Peasant Revolution, and was erected on May 11, 1997. It is located in a place overlooking Naejang Reservoir, and Naejangsan Sculpture Park is right next to it. It is a tower made of granite, marble, and stone, and consists of a main tower and a auxiliary tower. The four pyramids of the main tower made of Geochang stone symbolize the ideals of the Gabo Donghak Peasant Revolution, and the white marble symbolizes the spirit of national uprising. It was built at a height of 1,894m to commemorate the year 1894, when the Donghak Peasant Revolution occurred. The three tiers of gold on the upper part symbolize the Gobu Peasant Uprising, the Baeksan Uprising in March, and the Samrye Uprising in September. The stupa made of Mungyeongseok (聞慶石) is made up of four cylinders to symbolize the equality of all people and a horizontal society. Each cylinder is 1,100m high and 85cm in diameter. This memorial tower was created by Jeon Sucheon, an installation artist from Jeongeup.
