国立望香公墓为在异国他乡居住和去世的韩国人的灵魂提供安息之所。韩国政府于1976年为在日本殖民统治下被迫离开深爱的祖国并最终在异国他乡去世的同胞建造了这座墓地。除了墓地外，墓地还设有大韩航空纪念塔。每年秋天，都会举行大型追悼会。
