茶山草堂是郑若镛（笔名茶山，1762-1836）流放期间居住的房屋。他是朝鲜末期的一位学者，为韩国实用学术的发展做出了巨大贡献。他因写了一封秘密呼吁宗教自由的信而被驱逐到赣津，后来被称为“黄世英白西”，他在这座房子里住了18年，同时学习实用知识（韩语“实学”）。他的大部分著名著作都是在茶山草堂写成的。沿着茶山草堂附近的道路行走，可以看到千日阁，从这里可以眺望美丽的康津湾。距离茶山草堂不远就是茶山博物馆，游客可以在这里了解茶山的生活。
