茶山草堂是鄭若鏑（筆名茶山，1762-1836）流亡期間居住的房屋。他是朝鮮末期的一位學者，為韓國實用學術的發展做出了巨大貢獻。他因寫了一封秘密呼籲宗教自由的信而被驅逐到趙津，後來被稱為“黃世英白西”，他在這座房子裡住了18年，同時學習實用知識（韓語“實學” ）。他的著名著作大多是在茶山草堂寫成的。沿著茶山草堂附近的道路行走，可以看到千日閣，從這裡可以眺望美麗的康津灣。距離茶山草堂不遠就是茶山博物館，遊客可以在這裡了解茶山的生活。
